I remember the first time someone strongly suggested I should write and I got all indignant and sputtery (see? is that even a word?😁) and I said, “What?! (The, “are you crazy!?” was clearly implied) I can’t just BE a writer!!” And then the other person, now semi-amused and slightly perplexed, said, “Well why the heck, not?!” And I said, “because I write the way I talk!”
It’s taken a long time for me to think differently about writing and throw away old rules and perceptions. Still a work in progress, as you already know. 😉
